Did you know?

Did you know?

Did you know that "13 Storeys" was originally recorded with spoken word introductions to each song?

We will be adding the intros to the website shortly.

Cheers

No ;-)

I look foward to those Phil.

BTW I've been revisting this album over the past few days and listening carefully to the lyrics and John's vocals. You can really hear John's emotions and feelings throughout the album. Mountain Moved for instance is not just personal to John as the tradagy touched millions, John's lyrics almost bring you to tears and sum up the sadness and reality of this sad event. This album is still growing on me.

So are you Ian, growing that is. I remember a conversation in a certain place not too long ago about how people listen to music differently. I always assumed they did like I did, but found out many don't even care about lyrics or make any effort to understand them. Others do, but don't care about the beat, chords, instruments, etc. Others do it all.

Can't wait until the new versions are up.

You've seen my photo then Rita, guess that diet hasn't worked ;-))

You are right about how many don't listen to the lyrics. I am one who has stated many times just that. However to try to appreciate the music better I have been finding a little quiet time to listen in more depth, I believe that John deserves more effort than other artists. Lyrics are obviously a major issue for John and as a fan I think it only right that I pay more attention to the words than I would normally.

13 Storeys and Reclamation have certainly given John the freedom to explore new options/directiond in the future.

Nothing crazy in suggesting he get himself on the bill at next years Cambridge Folk Festival.

Selfish on my part as the site is 800 yards down from my house but logical when you consider the flexibility and appeal this music potentially has.

Its not folk music or is it. Musical tags and styles have had to change over the years; I reckon the material which has plenty of social comment within, would go down a storm with the folk crowd.

Come on guys; put that important finger in that ear and start exploring new territories.

Oh,,,,,,,, and no I have not been drinking!!!!!!!!!!

I contacted the organisers of the Folk Festival a couple of years ago and they didn't seem interested at that time. It's worth another try though so I will drop them a line.

Worth a go Phil; does not have to be Cambridge but there is a decent circuit there to explore.

The crowds are more tolerant of new sounds and artists they possibly have missed over the years.

Rock music is great and I love it but the fans are on the whole very tribal and easily prone to tagging acts before really giving them sufficient time.
